Matthew 3: 1-2
In those days, John the Baptist came preaching in the wilderness of Judea, and saying, "Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand!"
It is time to see something else. The message of John the Baptist, the message of repentance was as much a message of renewed sight as it was of change.
The Invitation
You are hereby invited to change your perspective. You are invited to join the process of repentance that allows you to enjoy the benefits of the Kingdom of God
NOW!!
Too often repentance is equated with sin and turning from sin to righteousness; without embracing the larger concept of repentance which is related to change of thought, sight and self-help to something much broader.
John's message is and was about a greater, superior reality; the reality of the Kingdom of God being available not in the hereafter; but here and now!
To repent means to change your way of thinking. Why? The kingdom of heaven is at hand and this kingdom has a totally different reality than the one you have been living in.
This new reality can only become yours if you change your way of thinking, your way of perception.
Repentance is a process of thought that is intended to create a vision of a new reality. It is the process Paul alludes to in Romans 12: "Be transformed by the renewing of your mind." The renewal Paul is inviting us into is the ability to see the greater, the ability to see the Kingdom of God in manifestation.
If you do not repent, you will only see what you have always been seeing.
Repentance is the call of the Spirit of the Lord upon the heart of the believer to move from one state to another. We are not simply to stop thinking what we once thought, we must begin thinking from a realm we have never thought from before.
Hebrews 6:1
Therefore, leaving the discussion of the elementary principles of Christ, let us go on to perfection, not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works and of faith toward God...
We are living in a time that is full of invitations to see something more, something greater. It is the season of acceleration of the acquisition of promises made by our Father. Heaven is inviting to us to see the Kingdom, to see the reality of what is truly ours.
But not only are we being invited to see the Kingdom; we are being given the path to get there.
This path is called FAITH and is accessed by being born again.
John 3:3
There was a man of the Pharisee sect, Nicodemus, a prominent leader among the Jews. 2Late one night he visited Jesus and said, "Rabbi, we all know you're a teacher straight from God. No one could do all the God-pointing, God-revealing acts you do if God weren't in on it."
3Jesus said, "You're absolutely right. Take it from me: Unless a person is born from above, it's not possible to see what I'm pointing to-to God's kingdom." (TMB)
